The Skaalar Exo-Skin (TM) brand flexible titanium trauma/stab plate has made a great impact on the market, the product uses Titanium 64 alloy, and is  much lighter than most metal trauma plates, and very effective against knife and spike attacks. It's also much better at reducing trauma compared to the "soft textile trauma plate" provided as OEM trauma plates supplied with other manufacturers vests. The fact is soft trauma plates don't really work that well at reducing trauma or stopping stab attacks. Our generation 1 trauma /stab plate will stop most pistol ammunition when used in conjunction with an  NIJ 0101.04 certified vest with the following rating, II-a, II, and III-A. The plate is only 6.0 Oz, and less than 2mm thick, and fits in almost any concealable vest manufactured by other companies. The question isn't why you should buy one, the question is why haven't you? This Generation 1 Exo-Skin systems comes in 8" x 10" sizes, and can be fashioned into full sized panels for your concealable or tactical vest. These inserts are excellent at upgrading the fragmentation rating of a military style vest; so it's not a just a trauma plateproduct. Many soldiers and police officers alike use this system for extra protection against ballistic threats and stab attacks.
